Position Summary

The Program Mobilizer will be a key field-level implementer supporting the successful delivery of JAAGO Foundation Trust’s Digital Gender Norms project, supported by BBC Media Action, within the assigned division (Dhaka or Khulna). Reporting to the Youth Coordinator, this role is crucial for on-the-ground execution, focused on community outreach, direct youth engagement, and coordinating logistical support for training sessions. The Mobilizer will play an active role in recruiting adolescent girls, young women (AGYW), and community youth, fostering their participation, and providing essential assistance to the Master Trainers to ensure a vibrant and impactful project environment.

Job Responsibilities

The Program Mobilizer's responsibilities will focus on grassroots execution and direct participant support:


1. Project Mobilization & Outreach

  • Identify, map, and actively mobilize adolescent girls, young women (AGYW), and community youth to participate in the project's digital awareness sessions and workshops.
  • Conduct community visits and initial awareness meetings to introduce the project's goals of digital inclusion and challenging harmful gender norms.
  • Work closely with the Divisional Coordinator and Master Trainers to achieve participant recruitment and retention targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant registration records and attendance sheets.

2. Implementation Support & Logistics

  • Assist Master Trainers and Training Coordinators in the logistical planning and smooth execution of all divisional-level sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Ensure timely setup of training venues, arrangement of necessary training materials (handouts, digital resources), and coordination of basic utilities/amenities for participants.
  • Provide on-site administrative and technical support during training sessions to resolve minor operational issues swiftly.
  • Coordinate with local vendors and service providers (transport, refreshments, etc.) as needed, under the guidance of the Divisional Coordinator.

3. Community Engagement & Partnership

  • Support the Divisional Coordinator in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with local schools, colleges, youth clubs, and community leaders for project buy-in and outreach.
  • Facilitate dialogue with parents, community elders, and local influencers to advocate for the safe and meaningful digital engagement of AGYW.
  • Organize and support community-level promotional activities, field visits, and awareness campaigns to maximize project visibility and impact.

4. Monitoring & Data Collection

  • Assist in the routine monitoring of training sessions, noting participant engagement, and collecting immediate feedback.
  • Collect basic field data, including attendance and pre/post-session evaluations, as directed by the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team.
  • Document compelling success stories and case studies from the field to showcase the project's impact at the grassroots level.
  • Ensure all collected data is accurately compiled and submitted to the Divisional Coordinator in a timely manner.

5. Safeguarding and Participant Support

  • Act as a supportive, visible, and approachable presence for project participants, especially AGYW, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help ensure that all participants are aware of the project's safeguarding policies and reporting mechanisms.
  • Report any observed or reported incidents of distress, conflict, or safeguarding concerns immediately to the Divisional Coordinator/Safeguarding Focal Point, maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Education: Minimum Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent pass and pursuing higher studies is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, field-level project implementation, or direct youth/adolescent programming.
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience working on gender equality, youth empowerment, or digital literacy initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Practical Skills: Proven ability to manage logistics for small to medium-sized events; strong community relationship-building skills; comfort with basic data collection and documentation.

Skills & Competencies

    • Exceptional interpersonal and mobilization skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse youth populations, including AGYW.
    • Practical understanding of the local community dynamics in the assigned division (Dhaka or Khulna).
    • High level of personal energy, resilience, and a passion for social justice and youth empowerment.
    • Basic proficiency in using digital tools (e.g., Google Sheets, instant messaging apps) for communication and data entry.
    • Strong commitment to ethical practice and safeguarding children and vulnerable populations.
